Let’s face it. Anybody can make a prediction before a tournament begins. That’s why EVERYBODY does it. Around here, we don’t do what everybody does. That’s not cool. What’s cool is going against the grain, swimming against the tide, smoking from the end that doesn’t have the filter. That’s why we didn’t bother to make predictions until the Gold Cup is half-over. That and because we’ve been busy moving our offices (my computer) to Buenos Aires and we haven’t had a lot of time recently.
Nevertheless, we’re here with our postdictions. To be fair, they could probably qualify as predictions because they are based on the June 1, 2011 WCR International Club RPI rankings that we posted last week. They weren’t all correct but they are what they are. We are just posting them so we can post something else tomorrow reviewing how we did and make some actual predictions for the knockout rounds of the Gold Cup. We’ll also be here to make predictions for the Copa América, but we’ll talk about that later. Before the tournament actually starts, but later.
Anyway, here WERE our predictions for the Gold Cup based on our rankings. We’ll see you tomorrow for a brief analysis and look at the upcoming rounds.
