With the European season over (no offense Russian Premier League), and no international World Cup qualifiers going on, the slow football schedule begins. That’s not to say, however, that there aren’t highlights; it’s just that there aren’t that many matches out there to watch.
What are the highlights? The biggest matches take place in South Africa as the 2010 Confederations Cup gets underway on Sunday with South Africa hosting Iraq. The matches will be broadcast in the U.S. on ESPN2 and ESPN. GolTV will have its weekly collection of South American matches, featuring action from Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia. Also, though it’s not on the schedule because the matches have already taken place, the midweek South American World Cup qualifiers finally will be shown on free television in both English (Setanta USA) y espanol (ESPND).
That’s it. There will be time to get out and enjoy some nice weather (provided you live in a place where the weather will be nice), so have a great weekend!!!
