WCR Weekend Soccer Television Schedule - 6/7 December

This is another great weekend in European football and a great weekend for the U.S. television watcher as well. In what I believe is a record dating back to when this site was started, nineteen of the WCR Top 25 Clubs are having their games broadcast in the U.S. in one fashion or another. This total includes three matches that involve a pair of such club that take place on Friday and Saturday.

This week’s choice for Match of the Weekend was tough. Valencia and Barcelona are two of the best clubs in the world and combine for an all-star game’s worth of talent. Nevertheless, I’m going to Germany for the top pick, where the top two clubs in the Bundesliga have at it in what is not only a battle between two Top Ten clubs, but is also a battle for the top of the table.

The top matches on Sunday involve Real Madrid, who will host Sevilla, and Everton, who will host Aston Villa. Unlike the past two weekends, it’s probably a good idea to find that remote control before this weekend starts. On Sunday, ESPN 360 is broadcasting numerous matches involving several WCR Top 25 Clubs, including Ajax, Juventus, Napoli and Benfica.

This weekend is just a prelude to next weekend, when, if memory serves me correctly, Real Madrid will take on Barcelona and Lyon faces Marseille. Unfortunately, I’ll be in Las Vegas that weekend. Does anybody know the best place to watch European matches in Vegas? Any info would be appreciated. Until then, have a great weekend!!!
