Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga - Status Update

SPAIN

The only good result near the top of the Primera Division standings this week belonged to Real Madrid, who defeated last-place Recreativo 1-0. Barcelona managed only a draw with Getafe and Sevilla and Valencia drew with each other. That is not even to mention the embarrassing 0-3 loss that Villarreal suffered at the hands of Real Valladolid.

Coming up, the match of the weekend will take place in Sevilla, where Barcelona will come to visit as it begins the tough part of its schedule, after taking on many of the minnows in La Liga. Whether Barcelona can hold on or Sevilla can make a run, we’ll begin to learn this weekend.
